Apple alienates yet another long time Mac/iPhone Dev

Apple has always been obsessed with control. If it was up to Steve we’d still be using one button mice and mac’s would forgo optical drives entirely since, the argument goes, you can buy anything you need on iTunes.

With the iPhone AppleĀ  finally has a distribution platform it controls entirely and despite the 100,000 apps available Apple wields entirely to much because-I-say-so type of control.

This week the dev of the face book app announced he was leaving his role as lead dev for the app because of apples Orwellian approval process.

Apple design fantastic products but if I for one would never buy an iPhone i couldn’t jailbreak or a Mac that would only accept software purchased and screened by Apple.

We live in an ownership society. I own my iPhone, it is mine. I can put it in a blender if i want and regarless of what sort of software licensing agreement bullshit Apple tries to cram down my throat i will continue to jailbreak my iPhone so i can install software that Apple decides it doesn’t want in its sandbox.
